Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

Since 1995, NHO has been an active player in the field of corporate social responsibility, at home and abroad. Building on the principles of the UN Global Compact; www.globalcompact.org (NHO joined the initiative in 2003); we work on various arenas to promote CSR in companies and to raise public awareness of the issue. A number of guidance documents and tools for companies have been developed (see links below), and seminars/workshops are organised on a regular basis.

As a follow-up to the Norwegian Government’s White Paper on CR 2009, NHO has formed partnerships with relevant stakeholders; among them the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Innovation Norway and the UNDP.

NHO is also the regional partner in Norway for World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), the international network for the leading business corporations in the field of sustainable development and CSR.
