What is the theme of the Annual Conference 2010 held by the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise entitled “Smarter Growth?”

The NHO’s Annual Conference 2010 has been given the title”Smarter Growth”. Norway is a country with good opportunities, but also considerable challenges. The challenges relating to climate change and globalization serve to impose increasingly new demands on both the public and private sector. We are faced with increased life expectancy and a labour market characterized by a high workforce dropout rate and problems with labour market entry and inclusion. As a result, we find that increasingly fewer people have been assigned the tasks of supporting a growing number of people.

Continued growth is necessary in order to ensure our future welfare. This requires new solutions. There is a need for a more advanced technology development, a high level of competence and increased efforts in all sectors of working life. We must all work smarter.

At the NHO’s Annual Conference you will meet Norway’s Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg, Editor-in Chief of The Economist John Micklethwait, Senior Researcher Erling Røed Larsen from Statistics Norway and Ann Mettler, Executive Director of the European think tank The Lisbon Council among others.

For more information, please see the programme. To register, please contact Ms. Mia Rafhaelsen at mia.rafhaelsen@nho.no or via telephone + 47 23 08 83 88. She will also be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding the Conference.

Yours Sincerely
