NHO’s Sister organisation the China Enterprise Confederation (CEC) sent a 9 man delegation to Norway in relation to NHO’s China-Energy program, which has been in effect since 2007. Last week’s visit to Norway is a follow up from two seminars on energy efficiency held this year in China and Norway.
The focus of this visit was to transfer knowledge and experience in energy management as well as the harnessing of energy efficiency and exploring the potential for energy recovery in the ferroalloy industry in China and in buildings.
On their visit to NHO members of the delegation got to experience therealisation of energy efficiency in the newly renovated building, housing NHO’s headquarters in Oslo.
The CEC members also had the opportunity to meet NHO’s CEO John Bernander who will also visit China in December this year.
The Chinese delegation’s visit to Norway included an energy packed program with visits to the Energy Research Institute and the Energy Cluster at Kjeller, where the delegates got to witness first-hand the practical details of energy management. The third day saw the delegates in Porsgrunn where Yara’s Energy hunting Project was presented. They also visited Tinos´ ferroalloy factory in Kvinesdal, where energy efficiency projects were shown to the delegation. The CEC delegates later visited Norsk Hydro’s ultra energy efficient building and test center in Ulm Germany. The delegates expressed satisfaction with the overall content of the program, in addition to appreciating that the program included excursions that allowed them to view Norway’s scenery.
On a lighter note the Chinese delegation wondered why autumn leaves are left laying in the streets in Norway. This was a bit of a surprise to them as autumn leaves are quickly cleaned away from the streets of China.
