China

The purpose of the NHO China project is to contribute to the development of Democratic institutions in Chinese Working life. The project has been in cooperation with two Business and Employer Organizations, the China Enterprise Confederation (CEC) and All China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC) since 1996. NHO's cooperation with its Sister Organizations has an even longer history.

The contents of the project originate in the Norwegian combination of an open market economy and labour relations at national level.

The activities demonstrate Norway’s experiences, which can contribute to strengthening the organizations and their member companies as participants in a more democratic Chinese working life. With a foundation in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) we are trying to share our experiences in fields such as HR-Management, Occupational safety and Health, labour relations and Management.

There are mainly two types of activities being performed; Seminars in China and a management programme where Chinese managers come to Norway to observe and learn. The seminars are mainly held in western, southern and north-eastern provinces and the participants are drawn from the top-management of the private and state owned Chinese enterprises.
