NHO's Secretariat for Private Sector Development organise and implement projects focused on strenghtening employer, industry and business institutions. The goal is to support the development of a strong and sustainable private sector in our partner countries.

Vision

Development politics is more than supporting the public sector. The Secretariat for PSD is working to prevent poverty by supporting private sector development in a number of cooperating countries.

Background

NHO has a long history of engagement in the Norwegian development policy debate. The secretariat for PSD was established in 2002, with a spesific mandate to focus on the role of business in alleviating poverty.

The secretariat organise and implement projects focused on strenghtening employer, industry and business institutions. The goal is to support the development of a strong and sustainable private sector in the partner countries. NHO also encourage Norwegian business to seek opportunities to invest and trade with business partners in developing countries. In its work the Secretariat draws upon a resource pool of experienced representatives from industry and our member companies.
