Norwegian Business Centre opened its doors in May this year. This is the result of an initiative from The Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO) to set up an office for Norwegian start-up enterprises in Uganda.

The cooperation between NHO and FUE first started during the 1990s. In the last 5 years this cooperation has expanded into 3 main programmes:
The East African Region (Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi) is about to become a single investment destination. The 3rd EAC Investment Conference held in Kampala from 28th – 30th April 2010 focused on investment opportunities in the region and dialogue between the business community, investors and public officials.
NHO’s Africa Network, a diverse group of companies large and small with business interests in Africa, met on the 2nd of June for another networking meeting. This time the focus was on East Africa and its energy potential.
The Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO) and the International Labour Organisation’s (ILO) Bureau for Employers Activities (ILO/ACT/EMP) together with Angola’s Chamber of Commerce, CCIA, have entered into a close partnership regarding “Training of trainers for small and medium sized businesses (SMB)” in Angola. The inclusion of ILO’s tools for training of trainers is a further step in the already well established cooperation between CCIA and NHO.
During the first week of may the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO) together with the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (LO) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted a delegation from Brazil comprising of government officials, representatives from labour organisations and business member organisations. The delegation visited Norway under the auspices of the two countries Social Dialogue Programme. The delegation’s visit focused on matters surrounding Norway’s Tripartite System.
Arbeidsgiverorganisasjoner i Kina, Vietnam og Indonesia undertegnet 15. april en samarbeidsavtale hvor NHO er pådriver og tilrettelegger. Samarbeidsavtalen strekker seg over fem år, og innebærer at organisasjonene i fellesskap drøfter og utvikler sitt engasjement på området "bedrifters samfunnsansvar".
NHOs søsterorganisasjon Federation of Uganda Employers (FUE) er kåret av Norad til beste organisasjon på resultatrapportering.
The Federation of Uganda Employers (FUE) launched its women’s chapter Friday 6th march at the Serena Hotel in Kampala. The women’s chapter has decided to adapt a version of the Norwegian Female Future program in order to increase the number of women chief executive officers (CEOs) in Ugandan companies.
