New engine standard NOx emission factors for 2015

The NOx Fund experiences that not all enterprises are aware of the change in standard factors for engines, and would like to point this out to the enterprises that uses standard values by calculation and reporting of NOx emissions.

Smoke

In the Excise Duty on emissions of NOx 2015 from the Directorate of Customs and Excise the standard value for engines is revised from 2014. Section 3-19-9 states (the NOx Funds' comments in italics):

Table for calculation of emissions
(1) Engines

a. Rpm less than 200: 100 kg NOx per tonne of energy product (no
change)

b. 200 rpm to 1000 rpm: 53 kg NOx per tonne of energy product (54 kg for engines constructed before 2000) (previously 70 kg NOx per tonne of energy product)

c. 1000 rpm to 1500 rpm: 50 kg NOx per tonne of energy product (previously 60 kg NOx per tonne of energy product)

d. 1500 rpm upwards: 44 kg NOx per tonne of energy product (45 kg for engines constructed before 2000) (previously 55 kg NOx per tonne of energy product)

Repayment
Enterprises that by reporting emissions for 1st and 2nd quarter 2015 wrongly has used factors from 2014 may correct their emissions and receive repayment from the NOx Fund. If so, the NOx Fund must receive a list per ship (or other unit) over reported emissions for 1st and 2nd quarter 2015 and with corrected emission per quarter. Please also state that the wrong factor for standard value has been used and bank account number for repayment. Submit this to post@nox-fondet.no
