NHO’s more than 33,000 member companies represent over 700,000 full-time equivalent jobs. NHO comprises 18 sectoral federations and 10 regional offices, and represents companies across most industries, from manufacturing and services to knowledge- and technology-based enterprises.

The NHO is the leading voice of business and industry in Norway. Drawing on in-house expertise and an extensive corporate network, we work to secure framework conditions that allow companies to compete, invest and create jobs across the country. We negotiate collective agreements with the trade unions on behalf of our members, advise member companies on employer and legal matters, and engage with government, parliament and political parties on the policies that shape Norwegian business.

Our purpose is to secure working conditions and opportunities for development that strengthen the competitiveness and profitability of Norwegian business, and thereby create the basis for a high standard of living in an economically sound and growing society.
NHO was established in 1989 and is independent of any political party.
